UPPI
SHIPS PRODUCT TO DELL COMPUTER CORPORATION
Friendship, Wis. – July 1, 2005 UPPI (Uninterruptible
Power Products, Inc.) today shipped their first order for Dell
Computer. The product, PoweRide,
will be used by Dell in a distribution facility to maintain production
continuity in the event of a negative power event. The multiple
unit shipment will be integrated into a complete PDU (Power Distribution
Unit) prior to final installation. Dell Computer released a specification
which UPPI was able to fill with a standard product. Dell
Computer, # 3 on the Fortune 100 list and the market leader, operates
at 100% of capacity and any loss of capacity due to power problems
results in lost profits. The decision to install UPPI products
to maintain uptime was arrived at after calculating the number
of power disturbances per year and the impact that they have on
shipments. The PoweRide will reduce the number of disturbances
that impact production.PoweRide
is a patented device designed and built entirely in Wisconsin.
The product is designed for industrial processes requiring maximum
protection with little or no maintenance required.

May
16, 2001 - New Power Ride-Through Invention receives recognition.
At the 31st Annual Governor’s
New Product Awards Program held in Madison, the UPPI PoweRide
RTD received special recognition in the Small Company Division.
The event is presented by the Wisconsin Society of Professional
Engineers.
Uninterruptible Power Products,
Inc. (UPPI) President Gary Jungwirth explained how this new product
addresses an un-filled need in mitigating the “weak links” in
the automated process control systems of today’s modern industrial
operations. The cost of shutdowns, lockups, machine malfunctions
and lost production to the world’s industrial facilities runs
in the billions.
According to the Electric Power
Research Institute and the Power Electronics Application Center,
99% of all plant interruptions are the result of Voltage Sags
which last less than a fifth of a second. Lights don’t have to
flicker for a machine process control unit to hiccup. Over 60%
of Voltage Sags involve only one phase.
The inherent design concept
of most modern day industrial machines require 3 phase power while
the machine’s “brain”, the very sensitive Process Control System
is powered by a tap off one of the three phases. If something
happens to that phase, the machine can lose its mind and shut
the whole plant operation down. It often does not take much…a
minor voltage sag as short as tenth of a second will do it.
Jungwirth said the UPPI Ride-Through
Device (RTD) is a simple, passive product using two phases of
a three-phase supply as input and a single-phase output. If one
phase is interrupted, you still have clean constant power out
of the RTD…. Even if the remaining phase drops by a third.
This combination works perfectly
since the heavy (motor, pump, conveyor, etc.) loads of a machine
are not normally affected by short power anomalies. A small RTD
is only used to keep continuous single-phase power going to the
more sensitive process controls. As a result, they will hardly
ever see any power disturbances (short of a complete three-phase
power loss). Processes stay running during otherwise costly power
variations.

Power Protection Products located in Friendship, Wisconsin.

5, 2001 - UPPI Ships PDI to Beta Sites
UPPI today started
shipping the PDI (Power Disturbance Indicator) to beta sites throughout
the United States.
The PDI uses a very simple
display to indicate power problems. The indication is instantaneous,
precise, and direct. It does not require interpretation and
has no complex charts. The PDI does not require any programming,
setup, computer interface, or skilled operator. It monitors
one, two, or three phases of 60Hz. AC power. Turn it on, push
a button and the LED displays will indicate these power measurements
and problems immediately and clearly.
Gary Jungwirth, UPPI's President,
said, "The applications for the PDI is unlimited. Our intention
in developing this product was to provide a simple monitoring
device at a reasonable price that can help to monitor and explain
the power irregularities in the industrial environment. The
PDI is also a perfect fit into our existing products. We are
very excited to see these beta units shipped to the sites for
evaluation. This step shows UPPI's commitment in providing quality
power solutions."
Production for the PDI is
scheduled to begin at the end of the first quarter of 2001.

20, 2001 - UPPI received patent on the RTD UPPI
has been granted a US patent on their PoweRide RTD. The patent
was applied for and issued in less than a year due to the uniqueness
of the product.
The PoweRide RTD is a line
conditioning transformer which is powered by three phase power
on the input and provides single phase regulated power on the
output. The PoweRide RTD not only gives you all the benefits
of a high quality line conditioner, but also provides a clean
regulated output even if two of the input phases fail. There
is no other product available that has no batteries or electronics
that can do this. |

September
25, 2000 - UPPI Receives Patent for Pioneer LineUPS
UPPI has been granted
a US patent on their Smart line Conditioner with UPS upgrade.
"The Pioneer LineUPS is a power protection system so unique that
we received the patent without any office actions" states UPPI
President, Gary Jungwirth.
The Pioneer LineUPS Power
Conditioner can fully protect you from over 95% of all known
power anomalies. In full power failure situations, our upgrade-option
provides 100% protection. This revolutionary concept enables
unparalleled flexibility in solving power protection needs.
One of the significant benefits of a Pioneer LineUPS is that
it is field upgradeable to a full-featured UPS.
The design and development
of this "next generation" product was based on extensive research,
coupled with a broad-based knowledge of existing product offerings,
providing the blueprint for the revolutionary concept that is
the Pioneer LineUPS. |
